Overview

RMS is the World's Leading Catastrophe Risk Modeling Company. Insurers, reinsurers, financial institutions, corporations, governments, and other non-governmental organizations trust RMS models, technology, and services to better understand and manage catastrophe risks throughout the world.

Problem Statement

RMS had an aging legacy desktop application. Users analyzed terabytes of data on a daily basis to come up with probabilistic data models and needed fast and simple ways to analyze and mange risk. The existing system was very complex and there was a lot of overheard on Users to get to their results. The end results were complicated and Risk Analysts found it very tedious to consume data models. Diverse User base with varied use cases posed an even bigger problem.

Vision was to create a cloud based platform to deliver Next Generation of Exposure and Enterprise Risk Management Analytics that support Users at varies levels from an Underwriter to an Executive.

Solution

A cloud based platform to deliver Next Generation of Exposure and Enterprise Risk Management Analytics. Worked closely with the end users and multiple JDP’s (joint development partners) in understanding their complex workflows. The User base varied from from Analysts to executives, so the experience was custom built for their workflows. The result was simple multi dimensional dashboards (patent pending) which combined Decision Science with Enterprise Risk Management to enable meaningful views of Risk. Insight catered computation, Sophisticated Catastrophic Risk Modeling, PetaByte Scale Data mining were some of the highlights.
